Introducing Backstage Pass: An inside look at Centre Stage

What is Backstage Pass?

Backstage Pass is a monthly e-mail newsletter that includes a practical teaching tip and a document that you can photocopy for your own or your students' use. Among other things, the document might be an activity, a game idea, a graphic organizer, an observation form, an evaluation rubric, or a poster.

How are Backstage Pass and Centre Stage related?

Centre Stage, our new series for Secondary Cycle One, will soon be available. Until then, we want to give you a glimpse of the kinds of things you will find in Centre Stage as well as other exclusive features. Backstage Pass is one way we can provide support until you receive Centre Stage in Spring 2005.

Who can subscribe to Backstage Pass?

Any teacher can subscribe to Backstage Pass. This is our way of extending a helping hand. We want to help you be the best you can possibly be in your many roles as teacher. That involves more than just providing core material, but also being there to give you support, pedagogical or otherwise. We are there for ALL teachers. Anyone can join, not only those using Centre Stage.

How do I get Backstage Pass?

Send an e-mail to centrestage@erpi.com requesting Backstage Pass and include your name, school, level, and e-mail address.

NB: You can unsubscribe at any time.

BackStage Pass

You can find our Summer BackStage Pass at erpi.com/backstage/p7636 This month's BackStage Pass focuses on students' development and use of both communication and learning strategies in the ESL classroom. One such opportunity is vocabulary building.

During this vocabulary-building activity, students draw upon various strategies to help them complete the task.
